One of the many lessons learned in life is the discovery of who we are as humans in our personage, what is our purpose in life, and why are we here?
The famous writer Mark Twain put it this way: “The two most important days of your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why.”
What I have noticed in my own journey as a follower of Christ over the past four decades is this: It’s not uncommon to go through periods of time looking for answers to questions like these only to find that ones purpose is hidden in the grand narrative of bringing fulfillment to the great commission of Christ to preach the Gospel in all the earth! There is no other purpose. (See Matt 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-49; John 20:21; Acts 1:8)
A discovery that requires watching for the clues and noticing the openings toward a future that is about to unfold. God’s plans and purpose are not hidden from us but hidden so that we can find them. Uncover what is meant to be found.
