“In My name…they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:17d NAS
Praying for the sick is part of the Great Commission of Jesus. In fact, its one of the very last things that Jesus told His disciples to do as He commissioned them. The scriptures says that they went out and preached everywhere! And as they did, an exciting thing happened: “And the Lord worked with them confirming the Word with the signed that followed.” Mark 16:20 NAS
Therefore, praying for the sick is something that we do often in the work of Firstlight, in Thailand. It seems as if when a person has been prayed for, something happens! Often an instant healing takes place. Or shortly after the person returns home, they noticed they’ve been healed and they return to tell us what had happen. The fact that they’ve been healed becomes their testimony. And they use it a lot to tell others about Jesus.
These types of healing can be anything from a headache, sore back, leg pain and even terminal illnesses like: Cancer, HIV and Aids. Please pray for our Firstlight Area Teams and Area Churches as we confront the culture daily with the Gospel. The Lord is confirming His Word!
