We all view God, ourselves and the world through a set of lenses that help us to interpret the world around us, much of which is determined by a deeply rooted belief system that we carry with us through much of our lives. The fact that we each view life through these glasses [if you will] is not a problem in and of itself – unless we have the wrong prescription.
One of the main ways we repent is to change our perception, the way we think about or view something. The act of repentance brings a radical reorientation of our minds, as well as our hearts and in essence our perception changes with it. By definition repentance means to change the way you think which is a fundamental principle that needs to be applied daily in our lives. As followers of Christ it is all about seeing and entering the kingdom. (See John 3:3 – 8)
The kingdom of heaven is mentioned over 100 times in the New Testament. A kingdom in general has territory and the king owns 100% of the territory. Every king has a will, and his will is the only one that matters in the kingdom. The same can be said and even more with regards to the kingdom of heaven to which all of us as followers or Christ have been made part. There is nothing more important than doing His will and following His commands. The glory of a king is the full weight of the his will manifesting in his citizens.
When the Bible talks about the glory, it is referring to the full weight of God’s will being manifest in His children, being transformed into the image of King Jesus.
God’s government is family. God is a king who doesn’t have subjects. He has children! He has sons and daughters, princes and princesses in His kingdom!
Pursuing the Kingdom is to be our top priority. It is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom!
