“Your Kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10 NAS
Heaven’s mandate is when God’s will manifests here on earth, even as it is in heaven. It is when the Kingdom of God interacts with the lives of men and women around the world in real time and in tangible ways. Revivals, we’ve called them. Outpourings has been another word. ‘This move of God,’ we are saying now.
Every morning worship service, every prayer meeting, every gathering of God’s people seems electrified with the presence of God. Sometimes those who gather cry out, with tears and prayers and exclamations as they sense His great, big, loving heart drawing near to them. Sometimes there are eruptions of giggles and chuckles, yes and sometimes delighted laughter. Laughter that such a great and mighty God would come so close to us. We can scarcely take it all in.
During such visitations, eruptions of full hearted praise and adoration can be heard pouring through the church windows. Other times hundreds, even thousands of people fall silent, quiet weeping and sighs the only sounds.
This is the day of the Lord. This is the time of His calling to the hearts of mankind to come to Him. These moments are not made up. The healings are real and stand up to the scrutiny of surgeons and doctors. The deliverances from drugs and alcohol turn darkness to light in the lives of entire families who once dwelt in great darkness and sorrow together.
Heaven’s Mandate is real! There is no fake here. There are not any who seek to be seen or known. Every heart is intent only on Jesus being seen and heard. For it is the Holy Spirit who points us to Jesus. Who teaches us how to worship Him. Who gives us the strength to obey Him, even when that obedience will cost us everything. It is the Holy Spirit who guides us into paths of righteousness for His name sake. And it is the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, who is the Gift the Father promised to pour out onto all flesh at the day of His coming.
Our Firstlight Family, I have a sense that the urgency and praying and crying out in heaven is being met and matched by the cries of rage and anguish, longing and spiritual hunger rising from the earth to the heavens. Jesus taught us to pray, “Thy Kingdom come THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven.’
What does that look like? Beloved, I believe we are seeing it now. Amen.
