… Three Thai men give their lives to Christ!
When I noticed the people arriving at the church building a little earlier then most Sundays, I knew that this was going to be a special day but I just didn’t know how or why. I had been up early that morning to pray through the Word that I was going to preach in the main worship service, and was I suddenly aware of the presence of God.
Hours later, that sense of His Presence stayed with me as I walked into the church building to join the others who were arriving there for worship. Right from the start, there seemed to be an excitement as each one took their seat to listen to the Word being taught during the pre-service teaching time. As Pastor Laore Rakprakhun taught from the book of Ephesians, I sat in amazement as I looked into the faces of those who had gathered that day – faces that I’ve seen before and others that I knew were new to me, and new to the church as well. Because it was a new Thai school term in the local school system, there were a lot of our Families Without Fathers (FWF) families attending church that day. There were lots of testimonies, praise reports and prayer requests during the worship time. But no one could have been more surprised then me to see what would happen next.
The main service had begun and it was time for me to preach the Word. Shortly after I began to preach, I found myself talking about the Kingdom of God and what one must do to enter it! It was as if the Lord was speaking through me! I sensed something happening in the Spirit! And indeed there was – God’s Kingdom came to earth that day as we lifted up Jesus in worship, and proclaimed God’s Word! And much to my surprise, and I’m sure to everyone else in the church that day, we witnessed three Thai men come forward and ask Jesus into their lives for the very first time. It was a WONDERFUL sight to behold. Praise His Name!
The church grew by three that day but most importantly we grew in our desire, hunger and desperation for Presence of God and for His Holy Spirit. I love each of these Firstlight Fellowship Churches and I am so privileged being a part of watching them grow!
