“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Gal.6:9 NIV
Whether we know or understand it, our lives are constantly sowing into something. Everything we give ourselves to, in energy, emotion or resource is an investment. Our lives are these amazing organisms, giving off light into darkness, love and healing into suffering. Joy into sorrow. Our prayers are measurable; although invisible, they bring us to direction and fulfillment.
Sometimes the sowing and reaping process is quick, as when God brings us to friendships or connections that immediately begin to flourish and produce good fruit. Those are glorious times, and in those times we look at each other in wonder and say, ‘surely this is the hand of God.’
Other times the sowing is long. We remain firm in determination though we see little progress. We grow weary of ever seeing fulfillment to the promise we have hidden in our hearts. Our hope may become faint from the longing. But the sowing still continues, and in it, times of fulfillment are only just there, right up ahead. If. we. don’t. give. up. Don’t give up. Praying, loving, giving, going, forgiving and showing honor are all ways to insure that the future harvest will come in. The tipping point. Heaven’s answer.
For indeed that is what it is like when we experience the breakthrough of answered prayer. It is as though a cup that has become full to running over, has been tipped in heaven, and all that has been stored up is being poured out on us, the sowing coming to fulfillment.
In this month our return to India to work along side my beloved brothers whom I have known since their childhood feels just like that. A cup of blessing has tipped my way. My heart runneth over.
