Partnerships offer great promise. We are so thankful to be partnering with Dan and Debbie Ecker and Firstlight International in Thailand, to plant churches and multiply leaders. Dan and Debbie Ecker have been in Thailand for more than 14 years. They are a tremendous couple that has given their lives to see the gospel reach the unreached in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and beyond.
Two years ago Dan and I were part of a team whose focus was training Lao pastors. It quickly became very obvious that our values and vision have similar passion. Our teaching notes were so similar that it was scary. Both Dan and I knew that God was up to something.
To be a partner is to be a stakeholder in someone elseís vision and life. Partnering with Firstlight in Thailand, is an investment that I know will bring tremendous kingdom fruit. Both of us have a sense of urgency concerning the need for churches to be planted in Southeast Asia.
Recently, we have chosen a micro-enterprise business model as a means of financial support for national church planters. With the merger of The E5 Project and Firstlight International, we will see leadership developed, churches planted, and healthy churches multiplied. The E5 Project is a church planting initiative that blends church planting training and business training together. Our focus is on five ìEísî Engage community for evangelism ñ Establish new believers ñ Equip disciple makers ñ Empower leaders ñ Economic elevation. By adding the fifth ìeî, this gives them a greater sense of self-worth, and a greater influence in the community they are trying to reach. This Partnership is committed to sustainable long-term action. I am glad to be a part of theTeam.
