“How could one chase a thousand, And two put ten thousand to flight, Unless their Rock had sold them, And the Lord had given them up?” Duet. 32:30 NAS
I have often heard it said that many hands make light work. And its true!
We have found that the more people or hands that we have helping us to complete the task that the Lord has called us to, lighter the load has become.
I can remember in the early days when we were just starting out. It seemed as if the dream was so big and at times, we even wondered if it would ever come to pass. Even before Josiah was born (he is now 23 years old and completing his fourth year of college) Debbie and I had already been on five continents and close to twenty countries. That was before Thailand and the work that we have been pioneering for the past fifteen years. It’s amazing just how far we’ve come and how faithful the Lord really is.
Through the years, we are learning that even through a small team or with a faithful few, much can be accomplished. We have proven the 80/20 principle time and time again which teaches that in most cases, eighty percent of the resources are being provided by twenty percent of the people. Which also proves something that we’ve learned long ago: Little is much when God is in it! As the years have gone by we have experienced the Lord’s incredible faithfulness to meet our every need and to grow the work in a way that honors Him.
And now as we look at the future, the support team that we now have needs to grow to meet the challenges that we are being faced with.
As with every work or ministry, there are growing needs. And the same is true with the work of Firstlight International. One of our ‘faith goals’ this year, is to add fifty new prayer, and financial support team partners.
Our average monthly gift to Firstlight is $55.00 dollars. These fifty new support team partners will help to take up the slack and provide $2,750.00 in new financial support each month. This will enable us to maintain and expand our commitments now, and in the years to come.
Will you help us to find these fifty new support team partners this year? Join us in prayer as we ask the Lord to speak to fifty new people to join our team in 2015. Two are better than one and if one can chase a thousand, then two can put ten thousand to flight! It takes a growing team!
