Answering the Call – Thai Lights
Sometimes, as a Christian we may want to serve the Lord but have not yet taken any steps towards what we feel the Lord may be leading us to do. To serve and to use the gifts and talents that God has given us in a way that is pleasing to Him.
This was may experience while serving with Dr. George Rooney, Pastor Dan and the rest of the Firstlight team in Thailand during an eye care screening outreach last year. It was my second time to serve as an interpreter, the first time was in 2010. It was very exciting yet humbling for me to see so many people in the Northeast region of Thailand coming to know Jesus.
You see, I am from the Northeast part of Thailand and I, too, was a Buddhist before I accepted Christ several years ago. It is very difficult for Thai people especially the Northeast as they mostly live in very poor villages and the practice of Buddhism is very strong in those parts. I am so thankful to God that he had called me out of those old beliefs and to help me to come to know Him and to find the truth. More importantly, to share his love with others for the kingdom of heaven.
The Lord was so moving and we all could feel His presence in a special way during each of the outreaches. We watched as many that had come to get their eyes examined sit and listen as other members of our team share the gospel with them. Prayer was offered to those needing healing. And it was wonderful to see many accept Christ as they opened up their heart to Jesus.
So blessed and humbled to serve with all these amazing brothers and sisters in Christ.
Thank you Jesus 🙂
